The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; —Lamentations 3:25
So much has been taught and said about prayer, but the importance and power of prayer simply cannot be overstated and is worth frequent reminders as we navigate the trials and tribulation of life. I can think of times when my prayer was not answered—at least the way I would have liked it to be answered. Then there are those times like the one I am about to share ...
I Stand Accused
He stood no more than a foot away from me angrily accusing me of accepting money from a hospital visitor. I was caught off guard, both by the false accusation and the intensity of it. I maintained my composure and responded, You only heard a part of the conversation ... He rebutted me in his determination to be right before storming off to get his supervisor. I said a silent prayer asking God to reveal the truth to this man ...
Many years ago while working in a security position and posted at the main entrance of a major hospital, the question was posed to me, Do you think it would be a good idea to give the valet a tip? The hospital visitor enquired. They would really appreciate it I responded. These guys get paid $2.00/hour so they depend on tips a lot.
Vindication Through Answered Prayers
The hospital employee returned with his supervisor and they both confronted me. I explained the circumstances which seemed to satisfy the supervisor. They both went back in the building without saying a word. No more than two minutes followed before the accuser returned and apologized to me.
God was faithful to answer my prayer without delay when I called the toll free prayer line that is never busy and always available. He thwarted the plan of the enemy by defending me—by revealing my innocence and character. He was faithful to me by vindicating me through answered prayer and demonstrated that I was one of His. Just as He does for anyone who hopes and trusts in Him ..
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. —John 15:7
