It’s Thanksgiving week again! It’s a time of year when we as Americans traditionally turn our thoughts to giving thanks.
And what’s Thanksgiving without the traditional turkey?
But how do peace, joy, and gratitude relate?
Can you have one without the others?
Are they intertwined — woven together for a synergistic effect of the spiritual kind?
There can be no true joy without peace.
The kind of peace we experience even when we are in the midst of the storms of life and surrounded by chaos.
Peace that co-exists with joy that rises above our circumstances.
The kind of joy that defies human capabilities.
Peace and joy are so closely related they are inseparable.
But, there can be no peace — no joy without gratitude.
Supernatural Gratitude
Gratitude, peace and joy all originate from a personal relationship with Jesus—
Through Christ we experience true gratitude as we learn to be grateful for His ultimate sacrifice of love on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
Gratitude for the gift of life everlasting in His presence.
To be grateful that He loves us unconditionally.
Gratitude for Christ is foundational to cultivating a grateful heart.
A grateful heart that sometimes struggle and stumble through the adversities of life but ultimately finds peace through faith in the living God.
Gratitude = Peace = Joy
None of which can be achieved in the limitations of our humanity.
It is only through the demonstrable supernatural power of divine intervention can such a miracle be accomplished.
As we visit with family and friends this Thanksgiving season, may we be blessed with a heart of gratitude, peace, and joy through Christ Jesus that survives our circumstances for time and eternity so that they are woven in our very beings.
Grace and peace to you during this Thanksgiving season and always,
Rick B
