Who among us have never been told “no” by people we love—including God? Sometimes there is silence in response to our prayers. How do we handle that. Do we doubt our faith and withdraw or curse God—or do we exercise patience and persevere like Job and others did? Silence is not always “no.” Sometimes it means wait …
It has been said that God answers our prayers with yes—not yet—or simply, no! The Apostle Paul, known for his strong faith was chosen by God to spread the Gospel to the Gentiles and brought many into the Kingdom shares his experience when God said no to his request.
“So to keep me from becoming conceited,a I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.” —2 Corinthians 12:7-9
